About me

.

After 40 years as a British craftsman, it still excites and awes me that nature has produced an enormous store of beautifull stone threaded throughout the planet.

Sharing the passion for gems became easier when I framed them in metal as a range of handcrafted jewellery, which has been expanding for more than 30 years..The gems are cut from natural rough stone, which I buy from miners and importers who take their ethical and environmental resposibilities seriously. The provenance is not easy to prove, but I always try to talk to the miners directly to establish their background and methods.

Except for the mother of pearl and tahitian pearl (black lipped pearl) all the rough stone has to be sawn into slices, from which pieces are selected to be ground, fitted and polished into individual jewellery mounts.
